From April 2026, it has been officially decided that our school will host 40 MEXT-funded international students. The “MEXT Scholarship Program” was established in 1954 and has continued for approximately 70 years.
Under this program, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) selects outstanding students from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Oceania, North America, and South America. After receiving preparatory education—such as Japanese language instruction and basic academic subjects—these students have proceeded to national universities in Japan, including the University of Tokyo.
Since 1970, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies has been responsible for providing this preparatory education; however, this will end this year. Beginning next year, our school will take on the responsibility of hosting these students annually.
According to MEXT’s evaluation report on our school’s selection, our Japanese language education and guidance were highly regarded. We will continue to devote ourselves to further enhancing the quality of education and instruction at our school.
